Online therapy
Compassionate, evidence-based psychological therapy for adults
I offer online psychological therapy for adults experiencing anxiety, low self-worth, self-criticism, difficulties with confidence, perfectionism, or patterns that leave them feeling stuck and overwhelmed.
Beginning therapy can feel like a significant step. I aim to provide a warm, welcoming and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly, understand yourself more fully and begin making meaningful changes.
I am based in Cheshire and provide therapy exclusively online. I work with adults across the UK and internationally, where appropriate.
Is online therapy right for me?
You may be considering therapy because you feel anxious, overwhelmed, self-critical or stuck in patterns that are difficult to change. You may understand why you feel the way you do, but still find it hard to respond differently.
I commonly work with adults experiencing:
- Anxiety, worry and overthinking
- Low self-worth or confidence
- A harsh inner critic or feelings of not being good enough
- Perfectionism and fear of failure
- Stress, burnout and emotional exhaustion
- Grief or trauma
- Low mood or loss of motivation
- Difficulties linked to painful earlier experiences
- Loss, uncertainty or significant life changes
- Feeling disconnected from yourself or unsure what you want
You do not need to have a diagnosis or know which type of therapy you need before contacting me. The initial consultation gives us an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy and consider whether I may be the right person to support you.
How I work
My approach is warm, collaborative and non-judgemental. I aim to create a space where you feel safe enough to talk openly, while also helping you understand your difficulties and make meaningful changes.
As a Clinical Psychologist, I draw on several evidence-based approaches, particularly:
- Compassion Focused Therapy
- Internal Family Systems Therapy
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
I do not use a one-size-fits-all approach. We will develop a shared understanding of what may be contributing to your difficulties and discuss which ways of working are likely to be most helpful for you.
Compassion is central to my work, particularly when people struggle with shame, self-criticism or feeling that they are not good enough. Therapy may involve developing a more supportive relationship with yourself, responding differently to difficult thoughts and emotions, and supporting yourself to make choices that are more closely aligned with what matters to you.
What happens when you contact me?
1. A free initial consultation
We will begin with a free 15-minute telephone consultation. This gives you an opportunity to briefly tell me what has brought you to therapy, ask questions and get a sense of whether you might feel comfortable working with me.
2. Initial assessment sessions
If we decide to proceed, our first online appointments will focus on understanding your current difficulties, relevant experiences and what you would like to gain from therapy.
3. Developing a shared understanding
Together, we will begin to make sense of the patterns that may be keeping your difficulties going. We will discuss the therapeutic approaches that may be most helpful and agree how we will work together.
4. Ongoing online therapy
Sessions will take place online at an agreed frequency. We will regularly review how therapy is progressing and adapt our work where needed.
“Hannah has supported me through one of th most difficult periods of my life”
She has helped me recognise how my previous experiences had left me feeling anxious and traumatised and we’re still having an impact on me.
She is so warm, friendly and welcoming and completely put me at ease from the 1st session. She approaches each session with knowledge & compassion and validation of my struggles. She has supported me to be more compassionate to myself, by challenging my thinking/perspective when needed and has equipped me with tools to move forward and maintain a healthy balance.
Online therapy was really convenient for me. It was great to be able to access it from anywhere, without the pressure of physically hacing to get to an appointment and I felt comfortable being in my own environemnt.
I’m so glad to have found Hannah. She really has made a positive impact on my health/in my life & I don’t think I would be in the place I am Today without her input and support.
How does online therapy work?
How does online therapy work?
Online therapy offers the same opportunity for thoughtful, meaningful psychological work as face-to-face therapy, while allowing you to attend appointments from a private and comfortable place.
Sessions take place by secure video call.
You will need a reliable internet connection and somewhere confidential where you will not be interrupted.
Many people value the flexibility of online therapy.
This is particularly helpful if they have a busy working life, caring responsibilities, mobility difficulties or they are choosing a therapist who doens’t live locally.
It can also make it easier to continue attending regularly when travelling or managing changing commitments.
Although my professional practice is based in Cheshire, all therapy appointments are provided online. I work with adults across the UK and internationally.

Not at all. Therapy is for everyone! You do not need a diagnosis or need to know which type of therapy you require before contacting me. We will begin by exploring what you are experiencing and what you would like to change.
