I am passionate about providing services which are effective and proven to help.

I am trained in several evidence- based therapeutic approaches including:

• Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT),

• Compassion focused therapy (CFT)

• Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT).

All these approaches are adapted to be provided for workshop and consultancy approaches.

1-to-1 Therapy

I have worked within the field of mental health for over 15 years, including general psychotherapy services and trauma services. I am very experienced in working with a number of different emotional difficulties.

I pride myself on my ability to help my clients feel welcome and safe enough to share their struggles with me. Therapy can be a big first step to take on the journey of self-healing and I feel privileged to be part of that journey.

As a Clinical Psychologist I am able to draw on an in-depth knowledge and understanding of several evidence-based therapy approaches which are tailored to the needs of my clients. The therapeutic approach that I provide to my clients is usually discussed and decided following the initial assessment sessions. We discuss which approach will be best suited for you depending on what challenges you are facing and for you to get the most benefit from the therapy.

I am experienced in providing both face to face and online video therapy.

Online video therapy allows for a flexible approach to therapy which meets the needs of the clients. You can access therapy with me from anywhere in the world, all you need is a good internet signal. People ask whether online therapy is as effective as face to face, and the answer is yes! There is a growing evidence base to support this. I believe that I can genuinely connect with my clients online and the therapeutic relationship can be just as strong as with face to face therapy. The free consultation I offer is a good opportunity to see how online therapy might work for you.

Coaching

The coaching services I am trained in providing help my clients to achieve their goals and live meaningful lives, guided by their values. If you are feeling stuck in life, not making progress, and you want to move forward then coaching is for you.

There are a lot of coaches out there in the world, and it can be incredibly difficult choosing the right one for you.

People have varying degrees of qualification and it is often unknown what professional qualifications coaches have. The approach I use for this work is based on the evidence-based approach called Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT). This approach has been shown to be effective and credible, and there are over 100 research trials which prove this.

Please note that coaching is quite different to therapy. In order to benefit from a coaching approach, the client should be feeling generally settled with themselves, with no overwhelming emotional difficulties. We will focus on what is happening that is holding the client back, in order to help them move forward. If it appears that my clients would benefit more from a therapy approach, I will share this with them.

Workshops

For over 5 years I have working with women online and in the community providing workshops aimed at improving wellbeing.

I predominantly use and draw on theory and practice from Compassion focused therapy (CFT) which is an evidence-based approach. I am passionate about providing women with the tools and understanding they need to be their own best friend and support themselves through the ups and downs of life.

The aim of the workshops are to allow women to take time out of their busy lives and focus on themselves and what their needs are, to share their experiences and learn that they are not alone with their struggles.

I work hard to create a warm and welcoming environment to all who attend my groups. I want women to know that they are allowed to look after themselves, put their needs first and become the best versions of themselves, without it being selfish or self-indulgent.

Wellbeing in the workplace

Never before has the mental health of staff in the workplace been more important.

In order to teams to thrive, be happy, effective and productive, it is vital for the wellbeing of the staff to be considered. I am committed to working with small to medium businesses who want to equip their teams with the tools and understanding of how to manage their wellbeing. I provide workshops which are tailored to the needs to the team; these include resilience training, stress management workshops and compassionate approaches to leadership. Creating healthy work environment benefits all members of the team at all levels.

I offer consultation services to businesses who are seeking advice and help about how to look after their teams’ mental health. If they have particular concerns about members of staff, are wanting to put wellbeing policies into place, or would like to learn how to navigate conversations around mental health, I am available for consultation on weekly, monthly or bi-monthly basis, depending on the needs of the service.
