Clinical Supervision and Private Practice Coaching

Clinical Supervision for Private Practice

I offer Clinical supervision to Clinical or Counselling Psychologists and CBT therapists, who have an interest using third wave approaches and are working in Private Practice. Using the core values of Compassion focused therapy, my approach to supervision is one of warmth, honesty and support. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space for clinicians to reflect, learn and develop. I support my supervisees to reflect and manage their workload, and engage in professional development and their growth as a clinician.

I offer supervision to clinicians working within a range of theoretical approaches including Compassion Focused therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy and CBT. I practice clinically from a predominantly Compassion focused therapy approach, with a special interest in relational dynamics.

An authentic supervisory relationship is essential for supervision to be a helpful experience where you can share experiences, feel supported when times are tricky and ask questions without fear of judgement.

Supervision and coaching for Private Practice

Another arm of the supervision I offer, is to support clinicians who are new to Private Practice and would like to receive a combination of both clinical supervision and practical support. Starting out in private practice can be a daunting experience so I offer supervisees a space where they can gain this practical and emotional support to get the best of their practice.

This may involve sharing practical and logistical ways of starting your own business, developing your practice, and genuinely enjoying your work. This also includes moral support to increase your confidence in private practice. In my experience clinicians set up in private practice to gain a better work/life balance and reduce the likelihood of burnout. As such, I support clinicians to hold this in mind, as they venture into this unfamiliar territory.

Working in private practice can at times feel quite isolating. As such I run a WhatsApp group for those who I supervise, where we can share referrals, CPD and training, and ask questions related to their private practice. This can be immensely helpful when starting out in practice to build up referrals, and benefit from peer support.

Please enquire for supervision rates. I currently supervise CBT therapists and Clinical Psychologists. I supervise CBT therapists who are looking to deepen their knowledge and experience in third wave CBT therapies. If you are a Clinical Psychologist who is new to private practice and would like supervision in the form of both clinical supervision and support for setting up your practice please get in touch.

Supervision charges

I charge £110 per hour for supervision, delivered via Zoom or Microsoft teams.

Regularity of supervision

I work flexibly, and the regularity of supervision sessions will often depend on the number of clients a clinician is working with. I am able to offer ad-hoc interim supervision should a supervisee need this before their next booked supervision session.

Testimonials

Hannah has been my supervisor for over 2 years, since I started in private practice. She has supported me not only through my clinical dilemmas, but also the personal challenges of starting my own practice. I chose Hannah because of her expertise in compassion focused therapy and how this can be integrated into all clinical work. She brings this level of compassion into supervision sessions allowing me to view both my client’s and my own sticking points from a new perspective. Hannah is open, honest, and friendly, which sounds a little cliché but is also true. Supervision is warm and light hearted, while still holding space for deep or distressing topics. I happily recommend her as a supervisor and have in the past recommended her to friends seeking support. Sarah Kilkullen, CBT Therapist.

I have been having regular supervision with Hannah for over two years.  I have found our supervision sessions incredibly useful – Hannah has a vast amount of knowledge and skill in Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), which I was keen to learn more about and build on using in my own work.  I feel supervision has deepened my own learning and built my confidence in using this approach with clients.  Hannah has also supported me in developing my own private practice, helping me to navigate the practical challenges that this can bring.  I have always found Hannah to be extremely approachable and warm and find she makes supervision a safe and supportive space to bring client work and any other issues I might want to discuss.  She has been a fabulous supervisor and I hope to have many more sessions with her.  Dr Sarah Gilbert, Clinical Psychologist
